  • That's not really how it's working out. What we'll see more of are companies that are created using AI, where the people are basically working absolutely essential positions, while the AI handles most of the "executive" functions. The simple idea of AI coming in and "replacing" the CEO isn't how it's happening.

  • They probably could have learned about collecting rain water. A lot of infrastructure could have probably been created to make that easier and more sustainable. Sounds like a lack of organization and leadership.

  • I think because it's such a new style of racing there's still a huge amount of skill to gain. It's like watching acrobatics combined with motorcycle racing. Maybe we'll see certain poses/motions become more common as new things are learned.

  • I've just noticed a correlation between that word and weird takes. When a comment refers to talking to "folks" it always seems like some weird explanatory comment that isn't completely true. Like "Trust me folks, this is the case" would be an example.

  • The biggest issue I have is the big "subreddit" gatekeeping. Realistically at this point, every major "subreddit" is purely controlled by the core corporation. There is not decentralization of Reddit at all, and all the "mods" are just working for free pretending like they're in control because they can do some things. The smartest thing Reddit did is make "mods" feel like they have some control.

  • So then ask, why does a car-centric society exist in the first place. It stems from the decision of many to live in giant houses, where everyone needs their own back yard. From zoning laws and the need to live somewhere far from work. It's deeply ingrained in the US, which is why remote work is the fastest solution, but many corporations refuse for control.

  • Yea that's exactly what I'm talking about, you're saving like an hour a day simply by commuting at a slightly different time, AND you're not contributing to peak traffic hours.

  • Not really, night shifts are like 8 PM to 4 AM. I'm talking about a shifted schedule where people leave just 1 hour earlier to avoid the worst of traffic, and thus efficiency improves considerably. Most jobs could be worked from 6 AM to 2 PM instead of 9 AM to 5 PM.
