It's literally the test run/marketing push for this open source chip. Yes they will be available outside of just being built into the badge. Firefox or one of it's many many forks is the way to go. Personally I use IronFox as a browser that's locked down by default, with some heavy uBlock Origin as blocking (it's a less featured uMatrix), and an "on device VPN" app for DNS filtering for device wide ad blocking.

If you work at a company where all of its offices are in the same time zone and you're time-stamping logs, then it's more expedient for understanding and placing an event in time against other things to use local time.

Unless everything is already standardized as GMT with offset I guess, but I feel like down that route lies madness.

Now, as soon as we do start dealing with multiple time zones I would just cut my custom time formatting string down to the shorthand to have the scripting language output in the full ISO 8601 format. But until then, being able to easily sort the the date properly and having the time be more human readable is a more "workable" compromise.

Because there's currently a lot more than 20% of expenses going to "overhead". Maybe 20% to administrative overhead, plus 50% to executive compensation packages.

Why did this need to be an "app" that lives in your tray? You can whip this up in most scripting languages in an hour max, and if you can't easily set a keybinding for it with what you're using then you can set up AHK to run it.

Hell, the whole thing could be done in AHK completely with dynamically setting your "safe" window with a different key combo.

Capture the current focused window's PID with one keybinding, or the window title, or some other unique identifier of your choice.

Another keybinding mutes, switches to desktop, then maximizes previously saved window. If previously saved window does not exist, does some sort of backup action, like opening a reasonable Google search.

Gaming Hut and Coding Secrets are great channels by the way. They have a bunch of behind the scenes stuff from a bunch of games, including a bunch of retrospective on Sonic 3D Blast and the director walking through his process of making a director's cut romhack.

They're probably safe until some governmental organization builds up enough motivation and money to try and investigate it. And given the reaming they gave the IRS I doubt anyone is up for it.

Beyond that, I can't imagine the sheer legal nightmare it would be, given that MS will hire the best fucking lawyers money can buy. How do you quantify how much is AI generated and how much isn't? How much involvement of AI makes it "AI code"? You could spend years in court arguing about where that particular line is.

It's a fun hypothetical, but unlikely to matter to any real degree, at least for a company their size. Maybe it could be used against some startup making dumb public statements.
