  • John Dies at the End was a wonderfully weird, semi-horror book I read in high school. Wikipedia describes it as comic Lovecraftian horror. Perfectly tasteless while also having really interesting plot hooks. I still think about that book even now, 15 years later. There's also a movie adaptation but they cut so much it's almost a completely different story.

  • Same height. They're almost exactly the same size.

  • My dog has eaten the shit from my wife's dog straight from the source, without it even touching the ground...

  • I get earworms chronically. They're so bad sometimes that I have a song stuck in my head even persisting through a full night's sleep. I started seeing a psychiatrist and got on a Sertraline prescription and it's helped a lot. For me the earworms are likely a symptom of a mild OCD condition. They also correlate with headaches, so if they're pretty bad I'll take some acetaminophen or ibuprofen to help a little more.

  • You might like Slitherlink. It's not quite the same puzzle type, but it's a similar casual style puzzle game.

  • That is utterly horrifying.

  • I like my Wyze cam. You can do local sd card storage as well.

  • Yup... That would be it. My quota is full. I had no idea that was a thing. I usually scroll the /top/all feed and upvote things as I go through, and then hide hidden posts. I guess I gotta start just clicking on them and only upvoting some posts.

  • Nope. It's also effecting my Boost for Lemmy app as well when it happens. That's actually usually how I notice it first, then I try it on other devices and browsers and it seems to still not work.

I just opened the console log in my browser, and it seems like I'm getting rate limited. Example of one below:

    XHRPOST https://feddit.online/post/1814638/upvote/default [HTTP/2 429 96ms]

Response Status Error Code 429 from /post/1814638/upvote/default

  • I, too, would like to know how you've got this set up.

  • I've had tinnitus for probably close to 15 years at this point. I definitely tune it out most of the time. For a little while I was wearing ear plugs to bed, and the ringing was actually somewhat calming, kinda like my own personal noise machine. It can certainly flare up (gets louder and kinda painful) from time to time though, and the trick with covering your ears and thumping the back of your head helps when that happens, at least for me.

Just keep in mind, you can totally still live a normal life with tinnitus. There are services that can edit music for you to remove the exact frequency of your tinnitus from the audio, so that when you listen to it your body fills in the missing pieces and helps you ignore it. I haven't used them though, so I can't attest to their efficacy.

  • The devs worked to get it Steam Deck verified, which means intent to support it.

  • This is missing a few things. It also needs to be toothpaste and a laxative.

  • I went to the midnight release for Portal 2. My GameStop had more people there for Mortal Kombat though. And by more I mean I was the only one there for Portal 2 and all 7 other guys were there for MK.

  • Hell yeah. I wasn't expecting a third game, and this is a more than welcome surprise.

  • FreeCAD. I have a 3D printer and it's nice to make my own models for things. I learned a bit of Blender, but have found that's a lot better for me just to edit existing STLs I find online. For making things from scratch FreeCAD gives me better tooling to make changes and iterate design, while also being a lot more easy to stay precise with measurements.

  • I had 5 finch babies on my porch last month. I set up a camera to watch them. They were a few days away from their maiden flights when a cat jumped up and got to them all at like midnight one night. The video is kinda traumatizing. My wife refuses to watch it, for good reason...

  • In a world where everyone's shoving AI down our throats, a President who makes things up on the fly and says untrue shit just fits in too well.
