  • Thanks! We'd really only seen adults up until now, while walking around the neighborhood. This was the first time we'd seen fledglings. Just luck that they decided to make their nest right outside our window!

I love the way they run -- head down, little legs pumping -- unlike the sparrows etc. that go hop-hop-hop.

  • That's a fantastic shot!

  • Great shots!

  • Can’t actually hear them. We have pretty good sound insulation.

  • That’s really interesting! Thanks!

  • This was taken from the highest point on the “Rockpile”.

  • This was at 18mm on APS-C, so 24mm full-frame equivalent. It was as wide as my lens would go.

  • Explain?

  • I actually didn’t hear their call. I’ll have to look it up.

  • When I first heard the name of this bird, I thought it was "Stellar Jay", which IMO is a superior name.

  • I've been hearing these in Missisauga, Ontario as well but I've never been able to spot them.

  • Shutter speed wasn't quite fast enough for the in-flight shot, so it's soft if you zoom in, but otherwise a cool shot.

  • Nice pics! We’ve started seeing (and hearing!) these guys in Ontario as well.

  • I went back and edited these in Lightroom Classic to compare for myself. I am so spoiled by AI Denoise...

  • Super sharp! Nice framing too.

  • That is wicked sharp. Nice shot!

  • Another one of the same bird:

A different one, female I believe:

  • I’ll throw my vote in for Bazzite. It’s best if you want to use your PC instead of tinkering with Linux. Plus it’s quite gaming focused so Steam etc will work out of the box, although each game’s compatibility will vary. Check protondb.com for compatibility reports on Steam games.

  • Could be! It’s been a long time since I’ve watched those cartoons. The cap on the head made me think of it.

  • This is cropped slightly for composition but not much. It’s one of the reasons I got this lens, so I wouldn’t have to crop so much.

Is the A9ii a higher resolution sensor?
