Another doctoral student recently came with a weird question: their supervisor told them that "examiners would be reassured" by seeing many connections on LinkedIn.

@tristynalxander I don’t know whether your engagement w/ LinkedIn is the reason of struggling to get a job in a moment when job cuts are on the rise thanks to companies like Microsoft - who owns LinkedIn - pushing for chatbots to replace humans.In the case of the original post, I don’t think examiners of a PhD should be concerned by any student’s online presence
