  • You have to take into account that animal agriculture is responsible for the vast majority (70%) of plants that we grow and we use pesticides for them. If we stop eating animals or stop using animal products all together we need tremendously less pesticides and harm less insects in turn.

    That is where we fundamentally disagree.

    They are "lucky" that cruelty towards animals is proven to make humans worse. But just farming and managing livestock for human consumption has not been proven to do that, as there's not cruel intentions in it.

  • From my perspective it is just unnecessary harm thus cruelty because you can live perfectly fine without eating or using anything provided by animals.

    A clear remedy to avoid causing harm to absolutely any other living being is stopping being alive one self.

    Veganism just wants you to reduce your harm to animals as much as is practically possible. Refusing to walk is not practical, not eating meat or dairy is very practical.

    From Wikipedia: "Cruelty is the intentional infliction of suffering or the inaction towards another's suffering when a clear remedy is readily available."

    Because eating meat requires cruelty per this definition IMO.

  • I made similar experiences. Sometimes it’s difficult for me to see the woman in the mirror (although it’s getting easier every day) but other people especially people who didn’t know me before my transition very quickly only really see me as a woman.

  • The paths we take can be so different. I came out when I was almost 31 and socially transitioned completely in the following 2 months and then started HRT 4 months after that. I just couldn’t wait to tell everyone about it, haha. It also was very apparent that something changed when I went from full beard to clean shaven after having a full beard for like 10 years.

  • I always go with a base coat, 1 or 2 colour layers and a top coat to finish it off. The number of colour layers depends on how good the colour is covering the nail.

    I find that a good brand of nail polish is worth it as it usually smells better, the colours look better and it’s easier to remove afterwards. My favourite brand is Herzlack, they have a great selection of colours.

    As for how often you can wear nail polish: just look at your nails, if they look a bit unhealthy or brittle, take a break with nail polish. I think it’s mostly nail polish remover that can be damaging to the nails but I’m not 100% sure.

  • It depends on what it is. Computer components, smartphone, TV and other "high tech" devices I will keep the boxes of because it makes it easier to sell and transport if needed. But for everything else I will throw them away.
