Don't be ridiculous. These people are completely cucked by America. The "Thule" base built on stolen indigenous land near Qaanaaq is their ultimate "good boy" prize. They would rather put a big bow on Greenland and hand it to the yanks with a card saying "Thank you for being our most important ally!" than they would fight the US military occupation of Greenland.

My father wants to pay for a family tomb so that when I die, I can be buried there as well. Do I let him or try to stop him?

That's a crazy amount of money.

My dad died earlier this year and my mom paid over USD 6.000 for the wake, cremation, gravesite etc. I thought that was a lot of money for a completely average and modest service.

I've never understood why dying has to be so expensive. I think it is kind of offensive that they charge you even for a cremation and an unmarked grave. We are all going to need our earthly remains disposed of sooner or later and the cemetery and the crematorium are already both public property so what's the point in charging people? It's not like you can just go without. I can accept charging people if they want to keep the gravesite after the urn/coffin has decomposed or if they want cemetery staff to keep the gravesite instead of doing it themselves but the basic option should be a public utility like parks or libraries.

When it comes to pork, Denmark has the world record for most pigs per capita and produces ten times more pork than they can consume themselves, despite it only being profitable due to massive subsidies.

A lot of the pork consumed in Denmark is imported from Poland or Germany though because it's cheaper.

It's the most rational economic system, I guess.

The Danish People's Party are in opposition to the ruling centrist coalition and will not be able to gather the votes necessary.

This is not a proposal that is meant to pass. It is meant to create a few headlines during parliament's summer break that will signal the party's chud credentials to chud voters and maintain baseline chud outrage over dumb culture war bullshit and sabotage more serious discussions about climate policy.

I wrote the article to report on the treat-brained delusion of anti-climate politics, the deeply unserious nature of Danish public discourse and as an example of how awful these people are.

The reason I'm not completely rejecting the possibility of this eventually becoming law in one form or another is that the Danish Peoples' Party has been the prime ideological incubator of Danish politics for decades. When they first propose something nasty and stupid people will laugh and dismiss them at first but a couple of years later that position which was outlandish before has now become mainstream while the fascists has moved to something worse.

The planet is burning and the fascist Danish People's Party has identified the most urgent climate injustice imaginable: Somewhere, a pensioner might suffer the indignity of eating a plate of chickpeas.

The ultra-nationalist party demands to have meat enshrined as a legal right. Under their proposed "meat guarantee," every resident of the Nordic hermit kingdom's nursing homes and every patient in its hospitals would be entitled to at least one meat-based meal per day. The propised legislation explicitly aims to block any climate-driven reduction in animal consumption. "Of course elderly people, who have worked hard their entire lives, should have the right to eat roast pork or a hamburger steak every day, if that is what they want," declared Malte Larsen, the party's climate spokesperson.
