  • There is no mute or block feature for instances on here

Yes there is. Settings -> Block -> Block Instance

  • I was thinking on a way less global scale. Like people getting home safely, recovering from illness etc

  • That worrying about things outside of my control is entirely pointless. And that in the vast majority of cases, things turn out fine.

  • Are we finally getting there?

  • Fairphone I'd say. The phones are not without their issues, but they really put a lot of care into repairability and sustainability, which I appreciate.

  • It's an ampoule with probably some kind of pharmaceutical substance inside. Looks a lot like Iodine color-wise (example), but could be something else.

  • Take a look at the exchange rate of the Yen compared to the Euro over the last 10 years and it should be clear why the Japanese prize is "cheap". The Yen has lost a lot of its value, while Japanese wages haven't risen accordingly. So prizing the game at an equivalent prize to EU or US would mean that the game would simply be unaffordable to Japanese people.

  • Mistakes happen but even then, convicting someone with that little evidence is pretty fucking egregious. He was clearly presumed guilty.

  • Frankfurt International Airport Terminal 2. Not being built, but this was a few weeks before the terminal was shut down for renovations. Most airlines had already left so there were very few people around.

I'm not sure what, if anything, this space was actually used for though. Just a huge, seemingly pointless empty space next to the parking garages with some public toilets. No trace of any shops or anything having existed there.

  • Hopefully they'll finally release this thing before things get even worse. Still determined to get one, but I know I won't like the price.

I wonder if they could do a hardware revision at some point that has all the standalone capabilities stripped out. They've really focused on the streaming capabilities rather than the standalone aspect in their marketing anyway. So I think a version without any storage and just enough power to stream from a PC could be a way more feasible product in the current market.

  • Your account is marked as a bot account, hence the "B" next to your name. If you're not a bot, uncheck "bot account" in the settings. That should give you the full functionality back.

  • Google books was created 22 years ago. Doubt that they had that much foresight. It was honestly a pretty cool project from Google's pre-evil days.

  • My go is for the Buzzard, it would sure as hell make desert trips and heat waves seem a lot less worrying and paranoiac.

I'm not sure I understand that one. What's the connection between buzzards and heat waves? Why do they make you worry? We have a ton of them in Germany, pretty cool birds and not dangerous unless you're a mouse.

I guess if I had to pick one, it would be ticks. But I'd rather not remove any, because whatever animal you remove may have devastating consequences on the entire ecosystem.

  • Play store reviews are supposed to be for the Android app specifically, not the social network as a whole. Scrolling through them for 30s, I see mostly people having technical issues with the app and a small number of people complaining that you can't be a nazi on there.

  • I don't know about Switch games specifically, but at least in the DS-era, there were test-devices that games would be put in by factory workers before they were boxed and shipped. So they probably would have had slight scratches even when new.

In the end though, does it really matter if everything was in perfect condition otherwise? If those scratches weren't there in the beginning, the would be there after first inserting the cartridge into the console. I'd get it if it was about collecting unopened games, but them removing the plastic wrapping pretty much makes that moot anyway.
