  • No doubt on sport evolution and getting older, I know plenty fans that didn't make it through the V10 to V8 eras because the cars weren't screaming any more, but I also know I am not ready to give up on F1.

    I enjoyed the 2020 tracks but I did not enjoy Merc's DAS system domination heh, that was a weak season IMO but I was just happy to have cars running at that point, take what we could get.

    Fully agree on WEC, they've become great fun to watch. Formula E I am waiting on Gen4 to prove itself before I go back. Last time I watched FE they were still hopping between cars midrace so it's kind of incredible to see the progress.

    The thing both these series doing different right now is consistency. Formula E is not as fast as F1, and had (has?) a "fan boost" ffs - but it is roughly consistent and measurable. FE did a good job displaying who is boosting and made it easier to understand the advantages a driver had at any given moment.

  • Near equal terms is how we ended up in years of drs trains though, there's no winning lol. I'm not expecting significant regulations changes until maybe '28, hang in there pal it has to get better

  • Any post-race content has become a necessity, after giving everyone time to sift the data themselves. But even then, the insights gained from one event seem to rarely inform another. I've also grown to enjoy the radio rewind F1 has on youtube because they're doing a better job of showing the action than live too. Maybe that's just how it's meant to be now - enjoy what can be shown, catch up on the rest in hindsight.

    But I'll check this podcast out maybe it will help, thanks for the recommendation!

  • During COVID, several movies including “Soul,” “Luca” and “Turning Red” were sent directly to Disney+ and executives felt that inadvertently trained audiences to watch Pixar’s films at home.

    Inadvertently my ass, executives wanted to pump the D+ numbers and now they cry they can't double dip on tickets and subscriptions. At the same time they want to churn out 3 pixar movies and 2 spinoff shows every year while "maintaining the prestige" and cutting staff.

    I'm afraid I will never understand the executive brain dysfunction.
