  • What are you using it for?

  • I'm also from the UK. Could I ask for a recommendation and price range for your panels? I love the idea of it and know the upfront costs are high but haven't actually looked into it.

  • Man that's so cool. Imitation is the best form of flattery. This is just my finger on a phone screen but the ideas add up. Going to see what I can do with it with some more time! Thanks again

  • Yeah that makes sense. You can see that from your timelapse. The way you remove the sketch shows that a layer, and the way the colour blends show a layer. And the way it blends between mountains to backdrop before you remove thay sketch. It's a really cool affect! My stuff is way more layered and blocky so trying this is blowing my mind a little 🤣

  • Amazing thank you!

Do you have any more detailed explaination on what that means haha! No worries if not as I understand this isn't a tutorial, just curious as I have only ever used block colour and have no idea how to go about this. I will try either way 🤣

  • Hey sick picture! 2 questions:

    1. Can I use it as my phone background please?
    2. What are you using to 'smudge' the colours together. I'm a new artists and want to try replicating that colour style coz it looks really cool

  • I had the plugin on my browser but found I wasn't reading big chunks of text on there and it felt clunky. That was like 10 years ago though. I might try again and maybe get an eReader to see if that helps. Thanks!

  • Because it already takes me so much time and I feel so 'behind' on books, I have a weird mental block to going back instead or instead of reading new things. I do now see what people collect books though 😂

  • Aa book a year seems completely insane to me! I won't get to that level but in also 'worried' about the intentionally of reading. I don't want it to just become another source of consumption for the sake of it. While I agree some books will be and that it's better social media, I want to ve intentional with it.

Glad you're coming out the other side of it!

Do any of these app have questions or things you like about them more or is it more of the design of the app? I was thinking of more analog ways of recording to help with my memory

  • Books @lemmy.world

Do you write up your books once you've finished reading?

  • I mean I do agree and I'm terrified of a world where reform get any sort of power. I also voted green but green doesn't have the same level of following. A small subset will vote for them, but not enough for the FPtP to allow them to make change. What is scary is that Farrage seems to be taking a lot of people who are disinfranchised with labour or con and uniting them around hate for immigration and just like Brexit, 'promises' (please read lies) that he will fix the UK and not just push us further towards division and unease. While Zack Polanski is IMO a much more suitable leader (and human being), he's not the radical change that people who feel squeezed will vote for. Labour only got 34% of the vote which lead to 63% of the seats. I understand PR isn't perfect but that doesn't feel like something that should be in the range of outcomes.

  • But the problem is the same problem it's always been with UK politics that first past the post doesn't actually allow for any change or for the greens to get in. Kier has always advocated for proportional representation but got in because of FPtP so has gone silent on it as will all people who get power through a broken system. So the greens will get fewer seats and not be able to make any change.... Maybe I'm just cynical of the government here.

  • 'Crazy' cat ladies are a literal stereotype. If you're a house cat, there's someone out there looking for that vibe

  • What are your interests? If you already have interests that's a great start. It might be difficult in your area to find women who like the same shit as you, but there will be some. And if you're going out only trying to talk to 'ugly women' as you said, they will get the vibe that you think they're ugly and not wanna talk to you. Every women can just be a friend the same way you have make friends. Start by trying to increase your friend group with both genders and I'm sure you'll find someone you're interested in and who's interested in you.

  • I'm a musician and that doesnt play much any more. I actually found something from the good old days of reddit when cleaning my parents house... A CD.... That was sent to me by a stranger from reddit as a music swap. I think the idea is awesome and as much as I love the ability to listen to everything streaming, sitting down and listening to that CD invoked amazing memories I forgot about, and I even found a few bangers I didn't vibe with all those years ago. Long story short, I wanna do music swaps with people and not just playlists, actual physical music. Don't know if anyone will read this or how I would even physically send someone music now, but if you're interested post or DM me and we can figure something out!

  • Linux @lemmy.ml

I'm putting my tin foil hat on and want to join the world of Linux, however I make music in Ableton. Do I just need to dual boot or does anyone have a better solution?

  • By stepping back into an abusive relationship and not knowing how to get out without fear of the person committing suicide and leaving 3 children with no parent.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

What nice thing have you done recently that noone knows about?

This board game is great. It's a really fun twist on a trick taking game. You give the person next to you categories and they rank things from 1-6 and then you give them back and play the trick taking game. Its fun because you get to learn more about people whilst also messing about with questions like 'do I think comic book guy from the Simpsons is a higher number for dad than a spatular is for mum's favourite kitchen utensil..... Hmmm...

  • Pretty much any rouge like..... But only for a few months at a time...... Maybe I have ADHD.....

  • This was going to be my suggestion. Irs like logic puzzles but with your body. Plus everyone is friendly because it's you vs the wall not vs each other. You can ask basically anyone for help and you'll meet loads of people. I would suggest bouldering as you can start on your own. I'd also suggest going to an intro lesson. They normally explain safety and then have a coaching session in a small group where you'll be taught the basics and be able to ask all the questions you want. I've seen people up to their 70s still climbing! If you've got any questions, ask away!
