  • Me being a therian doesn't imply that either. I have dysphoria related to my species, phantom sensations related to parts I don't have like big cat ears or a tail. These phantom sensations can be very unpleasant too, downright painful. Also the lack of these parts feels inherently wrong.

    I don't entirely know why I feel like this either, but I found the therian community and related to a lot of similar experiences they've had with this.

  • Isn't brain sex contested? I mean I'm NonBinary so that already puts me in a weird spot, but also I do indeed have dysphoria related to physical characteristics that don't have to do with gender like my ears and my tail, or rather lack of them. I actually get phantom sensations and pain, and it can be pretty upsetting and also pretty severe. Tail pain can be excruciating, but there's nothing physiologically wrong with me (that doctors can tell) that would cause these sensations, nor would explain why I have so much discomfort around the lack of these very non-human traits.

  • Yeah it shares more in common with a gender identity. For example I do experience a kind of species dysphoria if you will. I even get phantom ears and phantom tail sensations which is unnerving and also just makes me more sad I don't have those parts.

  • Hate someone for being a bad actor or a bad person but don't attack based on gender identity. That isn't attacking them, it's marginalizing many many innocent people, and it makes them a victim.

  • I've been harassed, yelled at, and insulted by women in the women's room, but at least they never physically assaulted me. I don't know if I could count on the men in the men's room not to do the same and I'd rather not take the chance. I remember a story about a trans woman who was killed in the men's room and it still gives me chills thinking about it.

  • I usually go in the women's room because people clock me more feminine than masc. Men's room is very risky because they might not care but they might also be violent. If the bathroom is busy I pee sitting down so no one sees my feet facing the wrong way, I don't really like it and it feels awkward to do which is why I pee standing up when it's not busy or no one else is in there. I have been caught a few times and the women gave me shit for it, though it was always yelling, chastising, or slurs, they never got violent with me. Most violent one got was grabbing my ear and escorting me out of the bathroom. I don't know if I could trust the men to do the same. I heard a story of a trans woman who was physically and sexually assaulted and murdered in a men's room. That story is very much burned into my mind.

    I usually try to avoid public bathrooms in general but lately that's been harder.

  • I agree, it is very weird for people to try and cater to transphobic/queerphobic people by throwing other queer or trans people under the bus. Bigots aren't going to be more accepting if we attack each other, it'll just divide and make us weaker.

    I really don't understand why people gatekeep things they don't know either, like keep an open mind. There's tons of shit that you probably don't know yet, but that doesn't mean it's dumb or isn't real.

  • The cat ears on top are super impractical, yet super adorable. I love them.

    Edit: Actually, hopefully in the future they won't be as impractical as they are now, maybe some of us will have real, biological cat ears in the future. Hopefully (I certainly do cuz I'm a Therian).
