  • Dunno why you didn't provide a link: https://resistancekitty.com/

I agree with your first impression. Tbh I would assume 99% of content there is AI generated.

But looking closer this seems to me like someone (possibly just 1 person) either

    • trying to profit from resistance against Trump by pushing their vaguely related AI slop on every platform possible to generate impressions, build a following and funneling that to getting them to buy merch
    • OR
    • trying to help the resistance in a way that is not really comprehensible to us, because its kinda very online, very unusual in a way. I thknk that might be the case as they also seem to provide many ressources free of charge.

    Maybe its also both.

  • Besides the general cult of personality I also really dislike the unneccessary focus on texts written and actions done by mostly (not always) white/european dudes in classical but also contemporary anarchist theory. I feel like the memes really contribute to that in way

  • Keepin that one in my (soon) watchlist, as its quite long. But I sometimes wonder why I am so interested in videos like this, as I recently watched BadMouses videos which focused on very similar topics

  • Yes keep moving the goal post...

This is not about the existance of psychological issues in the context of AI usage (1), this is about declaring some crazy you dont even know because you dont like their shitty moderation practices (2).

Its important to talk about the first thing, its absolutely shitty to do the second thing.

I explicitly called out the second thing. So if you want to have a good faith discussion, please stay focused on that.

  • Including the last one is a choice, calling someone crazy is not valid criticism. Its just ableism.

The rest of the comments dont judge moderation practices and instead the content of those communities. There is a rule in the regareding this sidebar. Its easy to unterstand and pretty clear:

Keep the comments in YPTB posts about the moderation action itself, not about the general topic in which the moderation took place.

So getting comments removes without further mod action? Seems like pretty targeted mod action that enforces the rules of the community. Since I think the rule actually makes sense, I vote YDI (or they deserve it)

  • Are you talking with people you are seeing for the first time and will never see again? Because those wouldnt be great targets to build community with.

Not really my strenght as well, but I recently listened to this podcast which seemed to have some solid advice around community building:

Talking to Rural Conservatives - it first read out the zine with the same name and then starts a discussion about it

  • Even if reading comprehension would be a mayor factor in this discussion, I want to be able to write out my thoughts in a way that is easily understood by different levels of reading comprehension. I think its also about context awareness which I sometimes struggle with. And also going the extra mile of writing out disclaimers so there is not such a response based on assumptions.

and I do so love (/s) how often the people who are supposed to be on my side will use misogynistic/homophobic/transphobic language to do so

Yeah I feel like people are not really great at seeing how this can hurt their own comrades and those groups whoe they want to support as well.

  • Thanks you for your feedback. I appreciate it. While I personally wouldn't read it exactly that way, it seems like a pretty big amount of people do.

But I would like to say that your comment is not really a reply to my comment. I replied to someone stating:

Yes. Your whole concept is that if you do something the fascists do then you’re the same thing.

While you argued that my comment has to be read as that:

This cannot mean anything other than you think antifa and nazis wear masks for the same reason.

Those things are not the same, because the being the "same thing" and to "wear masks for the same reason" are pretty different from each other IMO. But I think somehow many people read those things as being basically the same. Would you also see it as pretty much the same?

  • Bad meme. You just posted an interview of a fascist doing fascist propaganda without any additional explanation or contextualization.

  • Everything what you wrote is just based on this assumption:

Your whole concept is that if you do something the fascists do then you’re the same thing.

Which is just not true. But maybe that misunderstanding highlights where I could work on my phrasing.

  • Wow what a classist thing to say.

  • You are just wrong here. Being able see fascists motivations, understanding their reasoning and figuring out their strategies is one of the keys to defeat them. And you don't have to treat them differently just because you are able to make sense out of their behavior, because why should you?

  • Yeah I think this very much fits my experience, also with the way people call themselves

  • Sorry but I doubt anyone knowing the word pusilanimous would actively decide to use the easily misunderstood short form.

  • Yeah reading with that in mind I can see that. Thanks for that feedback.

  • Thank you for trying to explain your viewpoint. Based on that I can understand where you are coming from even if I disagree.

  • Most antifa don’t even hide their faces

I feel that this might vary region by region. Atleast in my experience in my part of the world most try to obscure their faces.
