  • Nah the problem the US has is it's insistence on jumping into conflicts it should stay out of, even if Palantir or Andril or whatever LOTR artifact the next physco names his tech defense contractor after replaces big-MIC with tech-bro-MIC were still fucked because we simply shouldn't be there!

  • It's interesting to see it confirmed that Reddit are centralizing power away from moderators.

While reddit moderation has its flaws, this feels like a 180 on their pre-"ai"/Trump direction of improving the mod tools to help moderators.

It feels like this will just turn reddit into endless slop, where which subreddit you're in doesn't really matter.

While I guess it's in part motivated because the alternative (empowering moderators, growing the admin team to supervise them) doesn't scale for infinite profitability, I think the anti-moderator whining always had a rightward slant to it*, so I wonder how much of this is political and coming from the top?

  • How does he ‘punish’ his brother? His wife?

Spain is the only country with a working system that is putting the people who committed COVID fraud in jail. Sanchez isn't doing shit, it's just funny that he's seen as corrupt while pretty much every European country is more corrupt.

  • It's funny the UK had COVID corruption orders of magnitude greater than Spain and nobody has faced any consequences, whereas Spain under Sanchez is punishing his allies for corruption and it's reflecting badly on him 🤷‍♂️

  • The site lists more corruption cases involving PP, but no total for them (or is the total combined)

  • Who knows who Joseph Crowley was?

  • You're in a desert, walking along in the sand, when all of a sudden you look down and see a tortoise. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can't. Not without your help. But you're not helping.

you're not helping! Why is that?

  • Controlled opposition

    Isn't

the media would find the kookiest person they could to stick in front of a camera

  • Politicians don't get envelopes full of cash anymore, they have PACs run campaign ads in exchange for support on policies they never explicitly ask for.

  • Are you AI?

What did you do to the turtle?

  • Seems unlikely.

I don't understand the desire on the left to pretend there are no clout chasers that take up left causes just for clout, I guess it's easier to pretend everyone that does a bad thing while being vaguely aligned with us is "controlled opposition" than to think critically or even just read the article.

Occupy might have been different I wasn't there but I suspect 95% of the wild anecdotal shit either didn't happen or was done by a leftist who believed some dumb shit.

  • Can the BBC stop framing Gaza as an issue that only Muslims care about?

We saw in the US that a lot of the core volunteers that go out knock doors simply don't bother when the party asking them to is unwilling or unable to sufficiently oppose a genocide.

UK politics is somewhat different as everything is so centralized and filtered through a Westminster media bubble but we'll see what happens if Labour can't win back the trust of its membership in a post-Starmer era and taking stronger positions on Gaza is part of that (even if the general public are fine with deprioritizing Gaza)

  • There calling him Andy Sandals, more flip-flops than Formby

  • Epstein litterally encourage 4chan to setup /pol/ all the edgy men's rights guys have clearly been getting played to provide cover for pedophiles and they're all too stupid to see the irony or one of them would take that edge to do something about it.

  • Honestly time to start pirating Lego given how much of a cash grab these brand colabs are.

  • UK budget is >£1,300,000,000,000 and your focused on £16,000 that's about a 1/3 of the cost of a single cop or 1/2 a binman.

Get some perspective pretending it's a big deal is daily Mail shit.

  • The £16k has nothing to do with tax avoidance.

£16K is also so in the weeds, it's a bizarre thing to focus on.

If your boss offers you severance pay take it, if they offer you your job back keep it!
